Situated in East Africa, Ethiopia is considered to be the original home of coffee. This is where the plant was discovered in the ninth century. To this day, the red coffee cherries are still mainly gathered from bushes in the forest that have been grown from wild seedlings.

Exceptionally fine beans come from certain hillsides in the fertile parts of the Sidamo district in the south of the country. These form the basis of this single-origin coffee, which has an incomparably sophisticated aroma with a hint of herbs and a spicy, full-bodied flavour.

Preparation

Dallmayr Ethiopia as whole beans is perfect for the preparation of a traditional long coffee in a fully automatic machine (without a crema layer).

To achieve the optimal results for your taste, you can try adjusting the various settings on your equipment. (The coffee is not always to blame if you do not like the way it tastes.) For guidance, refer to the manufacturer’s instructions and then experiment with the different options for grinding level, temperature, coffee strength and water volume. You will soon develop a feeling for how you like to drink your coffee.
