Japan Sencha
Sencha is the most common type of tea in Japan. Its fine, tangy flavour is perfectly finished with a subtly sweet note. It reveals a beautiful bright yellow tone in the cup.
Preparation
Loose leaf tea
Allow fresh, boiling water to cool to 80°C and pour over one slightly heaped teaspoon of tea for each cup.
Brewing time 2–3 minutes
Can be topped up two or three times
Pyramid teabags
Use one pyramid bag for every 250–300 ml – ideal for a small teapot or the Dallmayr glass teacup. Allow fresh, boiling water to cool to 80°C and pour over the tea.
Brewing time 2–3 minutes
Can be topped up two or three times
Storage
Tea is a sensitive natural product. Loose leaf tea should therefore be kept in a cool, dry place away from strong-smelling items. This is especially true for green tea, which we recommend storing in the refrigerator. Tea caddies with a good seal are ideal for this and also make an attractive gift for tea lovers.
